Decompressing from Writers of the Future
When I was accepted to the Writers of the Future contest, I obsessively combed blogs and posts by people who had attended the workshop in the past. I had this running monologue in my head as I carefully combed through what few tidbits I found, and kept asking myself, quite selfishly, “Why don’t more people post during the experience? Why don’t they blog? I need to know more!”
Well, now I know more.
The whole week was a non-stop whirlwind of advice and validation and photos and writing and new friends (scratch that: family) that I barely had time to think for myself, let alone post anything! In fact, I’m still not all “there” as far as being able to unpack the whole experience and share it out there with future finalists/winners who will no doubt be doing their level best to find the same information I sought.
I hope to write a more complete post (or series of posts, maybe?) in the coming weeks, but for now I just want to say it was a blast! I’m so happy I got to have this experience with my fellow winners.
In the meantime, the books are out there to be read, and the award event is up to be watched (should you care to):
